From 65-75yo shiraz vines across the Barossa Valley, cool-fermented on skins for 9-10 days, then pressed to used French oak for completion of fermentation and 15 months maturation. A smashing wine at $29.95, let alone $19.95. The colour is still deep crimson-purple, the bouquet furiously waving flags to grab one's attention with its seductive plum, chocolate and black cherry fruit, the palate a high fidelity replay of the flavours promised by the bouquet. The tannins are supple and round, the balance impeccable, the mouthfeel satin and velvet.
